About Detusoko Village

Known as Detusoko Ecotourism, West Detusoko Tourism Village is a tourist village on Flores Island in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This village is one of the supporting villages for the Kelimutu National Park due to its proximity.

The Indonesian government has designated this village a tourism priority village because of the village’s hilly topography, fertile valleys, and green landscape. The village has a strategic location, just 33 kilometers away from Ende.

How to get to Detusoko Village

To get to West Detusoko, you can visit Ende Airport via Jakarta or Denpasar. Arriving at Ende airport, you can take a bus or taxi via the Trans Flores road for 45 minutes.

Detusoko provides natural charm with beautiful topography at 800 meters above sea level. Detusoko offers several tourist attractions, such as agro-tourism, the Rini tribal village, the Kali Loworia bridge, hot springs, hot steam trekking, and more.

Moreover, you can also enjoy a variety of typical cuisines there. Cafe Lepalio features robusta detusoko coffee and the local menu. There is also an educational tour and traditional dances at the Daudole Studio.

1. Tour of Coffee Bean Processing

The coffee tour will take you through the harvesting, processing, and roasting of Robusta coffee produced by Detusoko. You may receive an invitation to harvest coffee during the coffee harvest season (August-September). The cost of this tour begins at 100 thousand rupiahs.

Because it comes from volcanic highlands, this coffee has a unique aroma from various roasts, including light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. You can buy this coffee in 100 and 250 grams bags.

Also available are coffee souvenirs with prices starting from 25,000 rupiahs. The Robusta Coffee Detusoko is a product of selected beans, processed in different ways, such as honey, washed, and wine methods.

2. The Rice Fields

The entry fee for this rice field attraction begins at 150,000 rupiahs. You will have an opportunity to experience local daily life, from direct interaction with the Loworia bridge to strolling along with the rice fields.

3. Harvesting Rice

On the rice harvest tour, tourists get a chance to see the traditional rice processing process while walking through the rice fields of West Detusoko Village. You can also harvest rice if you visit during the harvest season. To harvest rice, it costs 150 thousand rupiahs.

Tourists can participate in planting, cultivating, and harvesting rice in the plains of Bhonde and Watumesi. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to eat and drink local food with farmers.

4. The Attractions of Art Studios

It performs various local dances, rice processing dances (todopare), and other dances about local culture, along with folk songs, in Detusoko Barat Village. You can enjoy the attractions of this art studio for 750 thousand rupiahs.

5. Daudole Studios

There is a cultural arts studio called Daudole Studio at West Detusoko Tourism Village. This studio presents traditional dance and singing attractions for tourists.

6. The local cuisine

If you visit a tourist village without tasting the local cuisine, you are missing out. At Lepalio Cafe, tourists can experience culinary delights in West Detusoko Village.

Visitors can get a wide range of local specialties there. These include Detusoko coffee and other light snacks.

For IDR 200 thousand, visitors can explore typical Detusoko souvenirs for three hours. You can make items like coffee bracelets, Korodagalai chili sauce, or Moni marmalade while you are there.

With prices starting at 150 thousand rupiahs, you can interact with school children to learn together. In this village, tourists share knowledge and experience according to the children’s interests and talents to motivate them.
